About

The DOC Native American Religious Services program provides religious and cultural support services to incarcerated Native women and men in WA State’s 21 correctional units. We achieve this through the provision of spiritually and culturally sensitive Native religious services which are developed with input from Elders, Native community, families and Tribes.
We coordinate the religious and culturally faith-based services in contract with Washington State’s Department of Corrections, facilitating the religious activities for 21 Native American groups in 12 prisons for Native American/Alaskan Native incarcerated men and women.

We have Native American Contractors who go in and provide direct services with each of the Native Circles. They go in to conduct sweat lodge, oversee Drum & Dance sessions, and facilitate White Bison Medicine Wheel 12 Step teachings.
